Print the assumptions with the numbers

A chart becomes detached from its source easily. Put the race distance, finish time, date, unit and calculation method at the top. When the chart is shared with a coach or training partner, they should be able to tell what result created the pace ranges.

Keep miles and kilometres unmistakable

Write per mile or per kilometre in every column heading. Mixed units are particularly easy to miss when short repetition targets are shown beside long-run paces. Use one unit for the main chart and a separately labeled conversion when needed.

Take the session, not the entire chart

Before leaving, identify the range relevant to the planned work and the instructions that go with it. A full pace chart includes efforts you are not trying to run today. Keeping the immediate target visible reduces the temptation to turn a controlled session into a test.

When to replace the printout

Update it after a newer representative result or an agreed threshold review. Keep the previous version with its date if you want a record of the change. A higher modeled score is not the only sign of progress; completing the planned work and recovering for the next session still matter.

Prepare the page before you leave

Select the pace range for your planned work and check the distance of each repetition. Print or save the chart as a PDF using the calculator. Keep the written recovery instructions beside it: the split tells you the running time, not how the entire workout should be arranged.

Common questions

Which values belong on the chart?

Include the source race distance and time, score, date and units. Without that context an old chart can look like a current training instruction.

What do the repeat columns mean?

The columns convert the same modeled pace range into elapsed times over 400 meters, 800 meters, one kilometer and one mile. They are not separate workout prescriptions.

Can I print it without an account?

Yes. Use the calculator’s print control and the browser’s save-as-PDF option. Results are visible without an email wall.

Is the exported example my plan?

No. The TCX file is a labeled thirty-minute easy-run example. Verify device import support and the resulting target before using it.
