Sub-3 marathon coach. Break 3 hours with a real plan.

Sub-3 is the wall most marathoners crash into — not for lack of work, but for lack of structure. Online 1:1 coaching built around marathon-pace long runs, double-threshold weeks, and a race plan that holds.

What the coaching looks like.

MP long runs that bite

16–22 miles with 8–14 at 6:50/mi. Done weekly in the final block. The hardest workout in marathon training, and the one that breaks 3.

Double-threshold weeks

Two threshold sessions, 36–48 hours apart, periodized in the build. The Norwegian protocol, calibrated to your week.

Race plan locked

Pacing strategy, fuel intake, weather backup — all decided by week 16. You execute, you don't improvise.

What you get.

  • Plan rebuilt every 4 weeks from your real data — not a template.
  • Marathon-pace long-run progression keyed to race week, not a chart.
  • Strength + mobility built in to protect the final 8-week block.
  • Direct messaging access — same coach, every week.
  • Race-week taper, pre-race meal, warm-up routine — all rehearsed.

They put in the work.
Here's what came out.

Breno took me from a 5K runner to a full Ironman finisher. 5K 16:57, 70.3 in 4:30, and my first full at IRONMAN Arizona in 9:35 at age 39. The plans fit around clinic, the lab, and three kids — nothing was wasted.

Two years with Breno: 26 minutes off my 70.3 and a sub-11 full Ironman. The progression was patient and the workouts were the right ones at the right time.

Unparalleled value. Breno builds a methodical plan that actually targets the weaknesses you'd rather not look at — that's why it works.

I finished D2R2 180k — 19 of the 20 climbs are genuinely steep — and I finished it better than I expected. Breno had me ready.

Running faster. Breno taught me how to actually run easy so I could race faster — and now I'm running both faster and further than I have in years.

FAQ

How long does it take to break 3 hours in the marathon?

Depends where you are. From a 3:15 marathon, 6–12 months. From a 3:30, 12–18. From a 3:45+, plan on 18–24 months with a structured base block first.

What mileage do I need to run sub-3?

Most sub-3 athletes train at 55–75 mpw. Some break through at 50, some need 85. We build off your current base, not a chart.

What's the key workout for sub-3?

Marathon-pace long runs. 16–22 miles with 8–14 miles at 6:50/mi pace. If you can hold MP for 14 miles in training, you can hold it for 20+ on race day.

How much does sub-3 marathon coaching cost?

Phoenix $350/mo (most common) or ThunderBird $750/mo (capped at 4 athletes). Aurora is typically for athletes earlier in their journey.
