Half marathon coach — from first 13.1 to sub-1:30.
Online 1:1 half marathon coaching built around your race, your week, and your data. New runner, sub-2 chaser, or sub-1:30 athlete — same coach, three tiers.
What the coaching looks like.
Honest base block
We start where you actually are, not where Strava says you should be. Aerobic base first, then build.
Threshold that holds
Tempo and cruise intervals progressed off your current fitness. By race week you can hold goal pace, not just hit it.
Race plan locked
Pacing, fueling, weather contingencies — all decided by week 10. You execute, you don't improvise.
A sample week.
What you get.
- Plan rebuilt every 4 weeks from real data, not a template.
- Long-run progression keyed to your race week, not a chart.
- Strength + mobility built in so the final 4-week block doesn't break you.
- Direct messaging access — same coach, every week.
- Free, unlimited replans when life moves your sessions.
Is this coaching right for you?
Coaching for this build runs from $250 every 4 weeks ($3,250 per year). Here is who it does and does not suit.
This is for you if
- You have a half on the calendar and a time goal you can name.
- You can train 5 to 8 hours a week for 12 to 16 weeks.
- You have run a half before and want to stop fading in the last 5K.
This is not for you if
- This is your first half and you simply want to finish. A self-guided 12-week plan will get you there for a one-off $49, and the finish line does not care whether a coach wrote it.
- You are already committed to a marathon later the same season. Coach the marathon block; the half will be built into it.
- You want the cheapest possible route to a structured half. That is Apex at $4.99 a month, not $3,250 per year.
They put in the work.
Here's what came out.
“Breno took me from a 5K runner to a full Ironman finisher. 5K 16:57, 70.3 in 4:30, and my first full at IRONMAN Arizona in 9:35 at age 39. The plans fit around clinic, the lab, and three kids — nothing was wasted.”
“Two years with Breno: 26 minutes off my 70.3 and a sub-11 full Ironman. The progression was patient and the workouts were the right ones at the right time.”
“I finished D2R2 180k — 19 of the 20 climbs are genuinely steep — and I finished it better than I expected. Breno had me ready.”
“Unparalleled value. Breno builds a methodical plan that actually targets the weaknesses you'd rather not look at — that's why it works.”
“Running faster. Breno taught me how to actually run easy so I could race faster — and now I'm running both faster and further than I have in years.”
“Busy parent of three with a full-time job. The flexibility in how Breno builds the week is what makes this sustainable for me — the training fits the life, not the other way around.”
“Personalized, motivating sessions. Breno meets athletes wherever they are — beginner or experienced — and the work shows up on race day.”
“A comprehensive, easy-to-follow plan that works for people with busy lives. Nothing feels arbitrary — every session has a reason.”
Evidence is graded, not blended. A verified result is a named athlete with a measurable outcome and an external result link. A named result has the outcome but no public link. An athlete comment is opinion with no measured outcome, and is shown at lower weight on purpose.
FAQ
How long should I train for a half marathon?
12–16 weeks is the sweet spot for most runners. New runners need 16+; experienced runners coming off a base can do 10–12. We back-plan from your race date and protect the long-run progression.
What weekly mileage do I need?
30–45 mpw works for most age-groupers chasing a PR. Sub-1:30 athletes usually need 50+. We build mileage off your current base, not a textbook chart.
How is a coach better than a free plan?
A plan can't move Wednesday's tempo when you've slept 5 hours. A coach can — and rebuilds the week so the long run still lands. Same goal, smarter execution.
How much does half marathon coaching cost?
Three tiers: Aurora $250/mo, Phoenix $350/mo (most chosen), ThunderBird $750/mo (capped at 4 athletes). Free 30-minute call to figure out which fits.

Refunds, cancellation and pausing
- Cancelling
- Cancel any time by email, with no notice period and no exit fee. Your current 4-week cycle finishes as normal and you are not billed again.
- Refunds
- Cycles already started are not refunded, because the plan for those weeks has already been written and delivered. If you cancel before the first session of a new cycle has been published, that cycle is refunded in full.
- Pausing
- You can pause for injury, illness, travel or life for up to 8 weeks a year at no cost, and your seat on the roster is held. Tell me before the next cycle bills. Beyond 8 weeks the seat goes to the waitlist and you rejoin when there is space.
- Price changes
- Your rate is fixed for as long as you stay coached continuously. Published prices only apply to new athletes.
